Dear Editor,

Welcome to the mystical town Beaver Cove, Arkansas, where country ghosts offer homey advice and the moon makes lovers of total strangers. Prim assistant principal Maddie Harris finds her improbable match in rough-edged football coach Phil Wilcox. But with her difficult past, his bitchy ex-wife and a series of misunderstandings, it takes a little magic to bring the
lovers together.

“That Devil Moon” is my third completed manuscript and won third prize in the Windy City Four Seasons 2002 contest among ninety entries. I was also a finalist with another story in the 2002 Merritt Contest sponsored by the San Antonio Romance Authors. While I am a member of the RWA, I believe that my writing pushes the boundaries of the genre. I have been able to write full time for the past year and a half and have previously had articles printed in the Ladies Home Journal and other magazines.

Enclosed are the first three chapters and a short synopsis. While the synopsis focuses on the main relationship between Phil and Maddie, several subplots exist. One follows the red-neck druggy neighbor, Wade, and his family; another centers on Maddie’s gay friend, Randy, and the choices he must make in life. Plus, Phil has to work out his relationships with his daughter and ex-wife. All subplots are introduced in the sample chapters.

The completed manuscript is available upon request. I hope you enjoy your introduction to THAT DEVIL MOON.
